Job purpose:
The Project Manager will enhance the Operations team in Ireland with particular responsibility for construction projects. The role requires an understanding of construction projects and contracts, project management skills and the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders.
Roles & Responsibilities:
1. Health and Safety
- Ensure compliance with the Company Health & Safety statement.
- Set a personal example of leadership in health, safety and wellbeing, acting as a role model to company and contractor employees.
- Monitor health and safety management on sites through inspections and audits.
2. Mobilisation
- Assist with mobilisation for the construction and operations phases so that project deliverables are well understood and that there are systems in place to deliver the project requirements.
- Prepare and review pre-start plans. Ensure Contractor and FM company readiness.
3. Programme
- Monitor and report onsite progress against relevant construction programmes.
4. Project Management and Delivery
- Day to day management of the PPP Companies’ responsibilities including the efficient resolution of problems.
- Ensure day to day compliance with obligations included in project contract documents
- Manage and document the Change Procedure
- Manage the interface between stakeholders
- Preparation of internal and external management reports
- Attendance at all project meetings, including meetings with clients, users, service providers. Arrange, chair and minute meetings where required
- Collaboration within Invesis with colleagues of other departments and other business units
5. Commercial:
- In collaboration with other Operations staff and legal and financial colleagues identify and resolve commercial issues to the satisfaction of the relevant parties.
- Assist in negotiating a range of commercial and legal arrangements ensuring that at all time the stakeholders are kept informed of progress
6. Stakeholder Engagement & Communication:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with the project stakeholders
- Manage the interface between various parties (client, end users, shareholders, lenders, service providers, contractors, advisers etc.) to achieve positive outcomes.
Requirements:
- Degree educated or with a relevant professional qualification or membership, ideally in a relevant field (engineering/construction/ surveying etc).
- 5 years post qualification experience
- A strong personal commitment to safety and the ability to be a role model in terms of safety leadership
- A completer/finisher with strong attention to detail
- A flexible approach to their work schedule and location. This is a role that will require frequent travel to locations country wide
- The ability to maintain effective relationships within the team and with project stakeholders.
