Work experience

David Swarbrick serves as the Chief Investment Officer (CIO) for the Invesis Group, a position he assumed in April 2023. He initially joined Invesis in 2020 as the Managing Director for the UK and Ireland, subsequently earning the CIO role through the endorsement of our PGGM and BAM shareholders.

With a robust background spanning over two decades in public-private partnerships, David has significantly contributed to Invesis’s growth and solidified its 20+ years track record in the PPP market. His strategic leadership has led to pivotal milestones, including the company’s first digital infrastructure investment in Asanti Datacentres and the establishment of Invesis in the US and Australia.

Under David’s guidance, the company expanded its global footprint in 2023, opening offices near Washington DC, London, and Australia, unlocking new investment and asset management opportunities. Notably, David spearheaded the company’s rebrand to Invesis, aligning it with the evolving vision and strategy.

David’s extensive experience includes over 16 years at Balfour Beatty Investments, where he held various senior managerial positions, culminating in his role as the UK and Ireland Managing Director. During this tenure, he successfully delivered major property and infrastructure developments across diverse sectors such as healthcare, education, residential, renewable energy, and transportation.

Expressing his enthusiasm about joining Invesis during this transformative phase, David emphasises the company’s commitment to becoming an independent and autonomous investor and developer. He is dedicated to steering Invesis towards long-term sustainable investments, diversifying into digital infrastructure and energy transition while expanding its successful PPP/P3 approach to new markets.

Outside of his professional pursuits, David resides in London, finding joy in cooking, dining out, and running. As his children are now grown, he actively pursues his passion for SCUBA diving, seeking opportunities to explore the seafloor in warm locales. David’s leadership and vision position Invesis as a leading player in the European PPP market while venturing into exciting new avenues globally.
