On 26 November, the renewed passageway next to the Rijnstraat 8 building was opened by Secretary of State Raymond Kops, Deputy Mayor Rachid Guernaoui, and Sebald van Royen, Managing Director of BAM PPP in the Netherlands & Belgium.
The client, architect, and BAM joined forces to redevelop the important pedestrian and cyclist connection. They installed new paving stones and seats, enhanced the lighting, and improved the rainwater drainage system.
The passageway sits next to The Hague’s Central Station and is a vital connection to the city centre.
Guernaoui, Knops, and van Royen performed the official opening by turning on the lights for the Christmas tree along the route.
The works were completed by BAM efficiently and on-time which allowed the passageway to be ready for the busy Christmas shopping season.
